Our Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) TAT is among the best available with an average of 23 hours from specimen receipt, with 95% of tests resulting out within 48 hours. Our current turnaround time is within 24 - 48 hours from specimen receipt. To ensure this TAT, it is critical that we do not receive unanticipated shipments, please continue to coordinate with your representatives to ensure testing is available for your patients.
We are investing in people, process and equipment to gain efficiencies for our Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 testing. Recent operational updates enabling us to achieve and maintain capacity and turnaround time include: additional lift in staffing for sample accessioning and patient testing and expansion of our current testing platforms to allow for redundancy. These changes will enable us to handle increased volume and process 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our current capacity is 4,000 tests/day and will increase to over 10,000 this fall.
Also, coming soon, we will be launching testing for SARS-CoV-2 in addition to other respiratory pathogens. The testing will help distinguish between COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses caused by various pathogens.
